Biography | Photo Gallery | My Favorite Links | News In a recent interview, Jenny tells how her first single, “Seven Days Without Prayer”, an original composition, came about: "Well, it's kind of a funny story. My previous band “Jenny Lynn & Greater Faith” were having a late practice, which if you’re a musician you know that during late practices everyone starts acting silly. I looked over at my brother in law, Robert, who played bass in the band, and he had a t-shirt on that said “Seven Days Without Prayer Makes One Weak”. That struck a chord (so to speak), and before I knew it, J.R. Mosier, the lead guitarist, and I came up with the melody of the song. We kept horsing around with it and by the end of practice, I had written a verse and chorus. I showed the verse/chorus to my Producer, Zane King in one of our early sessions in Nashville. He said “I love it! Go finish it! Then, my co-writer, Gary Morgan and I tweaked the first verse, added a second verse, bridge and tag line. Before I knew it, I was in the studio recording it for the CD. It's amazing the response that we are already getting from this song. It’s really a fun song to perform! I guess the moral of this story is to be careful what you wear. You never know when it might end up as a song on the radio!” |
